Throughout the years, many of our “guests” have asked us if we perform dog obedience training, and if not, could we recommend someone or someplace that does. After extensive research, we are proud to announce that we have partnered up with Best Friends Dog Training, based in Melville, NY. Best Friend's Dog Training (BFDT) was founded in 1999 by Frank Bonomo with the belief that anyone who is willing to invest in training deserves the best, most personalized training available. They have a reputation of being able to handle, train and rehabilitate dogs that other trainers will refuse and are often called upon by other trainers and behaviorists to consult with their clients when they are having difficulty. They train both large breeds and small, fearful and aggressive dogs as well as well-adjusted pets who just need brushing up on their “mutt manners.” Frank has been one of New York's premier dog trainers for more than a decade. He holds certifications for narcotics and scent-detection training, has titled dogs in protection sports and does ongoing continuing education throughout the U.S. He has authored a regular column for LongIsland.com and hosts and assists with seminars for family pet owners, dog trainers and Police-Only training. One of BFDT’s signature training programs is their Board and Train Program. This is a two-week boarding program that is followed up with private lessons in your home. We are proud to assist BFDT by boarding not only clients who choose this program, but also any of BFDT’s clients boarding and day care needs.
